Aleksandr Mikhailovich Samokutyayev
Aleksandr Mikhailovich Samokutyayev is a retired Russian Air Force colonel, cosmonaut, and later State Duma member whose two Soyuz missions placed him in the mature International era. His career combines military aviation, Soyuz command, long-duration station work, and Russian-segment operations.

Bio
Samokutyayev trained as a military pilot and graduated from the Gagarin Air Force Academy before selection as a cosmonaut in 2003. That aviation background carried into Soyuz command responsibilities and ISS flight-engineer work.
His first mission, Soyuz TMA-21, launched in April 2011 with Andrei Borisenko and Ronald Garan. The flight was named for Yuri Gagarin's 50th anniversary year and supported 27 and 28 aboard the ISS.
He returned to orbit on Soyuz TMA-14M in 2014 with Yelena Serova and Barry Wilmore. Across both missions, Samokutyayev logged more than 331 days in space and performed two EVAs totaling 10 hours, 1 minute.
