Alvin B. Drew Jr.

Bio
Drew graduated from the United States Air Force Academy and later completed graduate work through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Air University. Before NASA, he flew military helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, served in combat and test organizations, and built a broad operational aviation record.
NASA selected Drew in Astronaut Group 18 in 2000. He first flew as a on STS-118 aboard Endeavour in 2007, then returned on STS-133 aboard Discovery in 2011, the final flight of Space Shuttle Discovery.
During STS-133, Drew performed two with Steve Bowen and became the 200th person to walk in space. After NASA astronaut service, he continued aerospace and government work, including space sustainability leadership in NASA's Space Operations Mission Directorate.
