Christopher J. Cassidy
Christopher John Cassidy is a retired United States Navy SEAL captain and NASA astronaut whose missions span shuttle assembly, Soyuz long-duration flight, and ISS command during 2020. He is one of the astronauts whose pre-NASA career came from special operations rather than test-pilot aviation.

Bio
Cassidy graduated from the United States Naval Academy and later earned a master's degree in ocean engineering from MIT. As a Navy SEAL, he served in operational deployments before NASA selected him in the 2004 astronaut group.
He first flew STS-127 in 2009, helping deliver Japanese Experiment Module external hardware to the ISS and performing three . He returned on Soyuz TMA-08M for 35/36 and on Soyuz MS-16 for Expeditions 62/63.
During Expedition 63, Cassidy commanded the ISS and performed additional EVAs. His archive condenses expedition labels into their Soyuz transport flights so the flight count tracks launches and landings rather than every station increment.
