Claude Nicollier
Claude Nicollier is a Swiss physicist, military pilot, ESA astronaut, and the first Swiss citizen to fly in space. His four shuttle missions made him one of Europe's most experienced shuttle-era astronauts.

Bio
Nicollier studied physics and astrophysics before becoming a pilot in the Swiss Air Force. ESA selected him in 1978, and he later trained through NASA as Europe deepened its shuttle cooperation.
He flew STS-46, STS-61, STS-75, and STS-103. Two of those flights were Hubble Space Telescope servicing missions, and STS-103 included his , the first spacewalk by a Swiss astronaut.
After flight service, Nicollier continued in aerospace education and Swiss scientific leadership. His record now includes mission roles, dates, and Hubble context rather than only a short statistical summary.
