George David Low
George David Low was an American aerospace engineer, NASA astronaut, and space-industry executive. He flew three shuttle missions and carried a family connection to Apollo program leadership through his father, George M. Low.

Bio
Low studied physics, engineering, mechanical engineering, and aeronautics before working at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. NASA selected him with Astronaut Group 10 in 1984, when he was still in his twenties.
He flew STS-32, STS-43, and STS-57. His missions included satellite deployment and retrieval, communications work, Earth and space science, and one connected to satellite retrieval and future Hubble servicing techniques.
After leaving NASA in 1996, Low worked in private aerospace, including Orbital Sciences. The first Cygnus cargo spacecraft demonstration mission was named S.S. G. David Low in his memory.
