Jean-Pierre Haigneré
Jean-Pierre Haigneré is a French Air Force officer, test pilot, CNES spationaut, and ESA astronaut who flew two missions to Mir. His career reflects France's long-running cooperation with the Soviet and Russian station programs before the International era.

Bio
Haigneré trained as a French military pilot and test pilot before astronaut selection. His first spaceflight, Soyuz TM-17 in 1993, sent him to Mir for the Altair mission, a short-duration French-Russian research flight.
He returned to Mir in 1999 aboard Soyuz TM-29 for the Perseus mission. Unlike his first visit, Perseus was a long-duration assignment; Haigneré lived aboard Mir for months, performed an , and supported station science and maintenance in the final years of the Mir program.
With more than 209 days in space, Haigneré became one of the major French station astronauts of the Mir era. His record sits alongside Claudie Haigneré's later mission history and shows the depth of French participation in Russian station operations.
