Jonathan Yong Kim
Jonathan Yong Kim, known as Jonny Kim, is an American NASA astronaut, physician, naval aviator, flight surgeon, and former Navy SEAL. His background is unusually broad even by astronaut standards, combining special operations, medicine, aviation, and spaceflight.

Bio
Kim enlisted in the Navy in 2002 and served as a SEAL, including combat deployments as a medic, sniper, navigator, and point man. He later earned a mathematics degree from the University of San Diego and a medical degree from Harvard Medical School.
NASA selected Kim with Astronaut Group 22 in 2017. He trained as a communicator and Artemis-generation astronaut before receiving his first flight assignment to the International .
Kim launched on Soyuz MS-27 in April 2025 with Sergey Ryzhikov and Alexey Zubritsky and served aboard the ISS during 72 and 73. He returned to Earth in December 2025 after a long-duration first spaceflight.
