Mamoru Mohri is a Japanese scientist, engineer, NASDA astronaut, and public science leader. He was one of Japan's early astronauts to fly aboard the Space Shuttle.

Bio
Mohri studied chemistry in Japan and Australia and worked as a materials scientist before his astronaut career. His background fit the shuttle era's use of for international science missions.
He flew STS-47 in 1992 as a payload specialist on Spacelab-J, a United States-Japan research mission, then returned on STS-99 for the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission.
After spaceflight, Mohri became a prominent science communicator and museum leader in Japan, helping connect human spaceflight to public science education.
