Bio
Korniyenko worked in technical and aerospace environments before entering the cosmonaut corps. His first spaceflight was Soyuz TMA-18, a long-duration ISS mission during 23 and 24.
His second flight launched on Soyuz TMA-16M with Gennady Padalka and Scott Kelly. Korniyenko and Kelly stayed aboard for almost a year, returning on Soyuz TMA-18M after a mission designed to gather data for future deep-space planning. That keeps the archive accurate and avoids counting station increments as separate launches.
