Bio
Arnold worked as a teacher in the United States and overseas before NASA selected him as an educator with Astronaut Group 19 in 2004.
He first flew on STS-119 in 2009, the shuttle mission that completed the station's major solar-array assembly. During that flight he performed connected to ISS construction and outfitting.
Arnold returned to orbit in 2018 on Soyuz MS-08 and served aboard the ISS during 55 and 56. That second flight moved his record from shuttle assembly work into long-duration research, maintenance, and station crew operations.
