Roman Yurievich Romanenko
Roman Yurievich Romanenko is a retired Russian cosmonaut, military pilot, and later political figure who completed two long-duration ISS missions. He is also part of one of spaceflight's notable family lines: his father, Yuri Romanenko, was a veteran Soviet cosmonaut.

Bio
Romanenko trained as a military pilot before selection into the cosmonaut corps in 1997. He qualified as a test cosmonaut and served in backup roles before flying, including backup Soyuz assignments tied to early ISS .
His first flight was Soyuz TMA-15 in 2009, when he served aboard Expeditions 20 and 21. His second was Soyuz TMA-07M in 2012-2013 with Chris Hadfield and Thomas Marshburn, covering Expeditions 34 and 35.
