Bio
Ryzhikov trained as a Russian Air Force pilot before cosmonaut selection in 2006. He entered the corps with operational aviation experience and later became a reliable Soyuz commander during the post-Shuttle and commercial-crew era of ISS transportation.
His first mission launched on Soyuz MS-02 in 2016 for 49/50. His second launched on Soyuz MS-17 in 2020, when he commanded the spacecraft and later served aboard the ISS during Expedition 63/64. His third launched on Soyuz MS-27 in April 2025 and returned on December 9, 2025 after Expedition 72/73 work.
