Bio
Swanson earned engineering and computer-science degrees from the University of Colorado Boulder, Florida Atlantic University, and Texas A&M University. Before his flights, he worked in NASA aircraft and astronaut operations, including CAPCOM duties.
He flew two shuttle ISS assembly missions, STS-117 and STS-119, and later launched on Soyuz TMA-12M for 39 and 40. That Soyuz mission should hold the expedition labels inside one flight card.
Swanson completed multiple and later commanded Expedition 40.
