Susan L. Kilrain (Still)
Susan Leigh Still Kilrain is an American aerospace engineer, naval aviator, test pilot, and retired NASA astronaut. Selected in NASA Astronaut Group 15 in 1994, she became one of the few women to pilot the Space Shuttle.

Bio
Kilrain studied aerospace engineering and served in the United States Navy as a pilot and test pilot before astronaut selection. Her technical and flight background placed her in the shuttle cockpit during a period when NASA was pushing reusable spacecraft operations for laboratory science missions.
She piloted STS-83 and STS-94, the Microgravity Science Laboratory missions aboard Columbia. STS-83 ended early because of a fuel-cell issue, and STS-94 reflown the same laboratory package, making her pair of missions an unusually clear example of NASA correcting and completing a science flight.
