A new development selection
In June 2025, Satellogic announced that Uzma had been selected as the successful bidder for the Malaysian High-Resolution Earth Observation Satellite Project, or MHREOSP, with Satellogic as technology partner. The announcement described a new satellite and Malaysian participation in design, development, assembly, integration and testing. It explicitly built on the earlier UzmaSAT-1 deployment rather than renaming that spacecraft.
Final integration and testing in Malaysia were described as planned activities. This lesson uses the June announcement as a dated selection milestone; it does not turn future-tense commitments into completed flight results. A development program passes through additional decisions and evidence before launch, commissioning and routine use. A source’s publication date and its verbs help distinguish which stage is actually documented.

A performance target needs acceptance evidence
The supplier described a next-generation imaging design with a 50-centimetre resolution target across its spectral bands. That is an advertised design objective in the selection announcement, not a lesson claim that the finished system has already demonstrated those values. Image usefulness also depends on calibration, contrast, viewing geometry, processing and the requirements of the intended application.
Suppose a fictional contract requires location errors below ten metres for a specified test set. A measured error of eight metres passes that particular numerical threshold; an error of twelve does not. The team still needs to know how the test set was chosen and under which conditions the measurement applies. Passing one threshold does not establish every aspect of the image product or all future observations.

Transfer includes the ability to repeat the work
can be evaluated through what participants are able to do: integrate interfaces, run a test, diagnose a fault, explain the result and preserve the relevant procedures. Attendance at a workshop is evidence of participation, but independent performance of an agreed engineering task is stronger evidence of an acquired capability. NASA’s project and systems-engineering guidance supplies a general framework for tying work to requirements and .
For example, a trained team might repeat an acceptance test using documented equipment and compare its results with a reference run. Differences would prompt investigation rather than a ceremonial declaration of completion. MHREOSP is useful for studying how public objectives, commercial expertise and local engineering can be connected. Its long-term contribution should be assessed through the resulting spacecraft, information services and repeatable skills, each supported by evidence appropriate to that outcome.
