Garman compiled the guidance computer's alarm responses before Apollo 11. During Eagle's descent, he identified the 1201 and 1202 alarms as recoverable executive-overflow conditions and supplied the guidance team with the information needed to recommend continuing the landing.
His detailed preparation converted an unfamiliar cockpit warning into a timely operational decision at one of Apollo 11's most critical moments.
