Behind the missions
Spaceflight has more stories to tell.
Yours belongs in the conversation.
You didn’t have to fly to help us reach space. Technicians, machinists, programmers, engineers, contractors, administrative teams, and support crews made these missions possible.
If you contributed to NASA or another part of the space program—or know someone who did—we’d like to hear from you. A job title does not have to be famous for the work to matter.
How your story could become part of the archive
01 · Reach out
Share a memory, a short introduction, or the work you want remembered. You don’t need a finished autobiography.
02 · Work with the editor
The editor reviews your account, asks questions where needed, and distinguishes personal recollection from independently documented facts.
03 · Review before publication
If the story moves forward, you review the proposed wording and publication permission. The editor makes the final publishing decision.
Start with a memory
A few paragraphs are enough. You can share your own experience or tell us about someone whose contribution deserves to be remembered. Fields marked * are required.
This form prepares an email; it does not send a web submission. Nothing is sent as you type. You must send the email yourself. Contact details are for the editor, not a public profile.
For example: my own experience, their child, or a former colleague.
What did you work on? What was a typical day like? What do you wish people knew? Approximate dates and uncertainty are welcome. 0 / 20,000 characters.
Describe photos or documents, or paste public links. No file uploads yet. Please do not include classified, export-controlled, employer-confidential material, passwords, or other people’s private contact information.
Saving is optional and uses this browser’s local storage—not an encrypted vault. Anyone using this browser profile may be able to read the saved draft. Only remove your saved copy once you no longer need it.
A few things to know
Tell us when you are recalling events approximately or writing on someone else’s behalf. Sending a story is not a transfer of copyright, and permission for someone’s words does not automatically cover photographs, documents, or other people’s contributions.
Please use public, non-sensitive information. If you want to correct or withdraw something you’ve shared, contact the editor. Do not send sensitive personal information by ordinary email.
