Skylab was America’s first , built around converted Saturn S-IVB-212. Its orbital assembly combined the workshop, Airlock Module, Multiple , Apollo Telescope Mount, solar arrays, life-support systems, crew quarters, and a broad research laboratory used by three resident crews.
