Orbital, deep-space, near-orbital, extraterrestrial, and human suborbital launches are included. Non-missile suborbital and sounding-rocket flights enter when their recorded apogee reaches at least 80 km.
Routine missile tests, lower-atmosphere rockets, reentry tests, station expeditions, captive-carry tests, cancellations, and future plans do not become physical launch attempts.
Time, site, pad, vehicle configuration, operator, payload manifest, trajectory, outcome, and citation are each represented or explicitly held. A launch can be securely identified without pretending every field is known.
Vehicle cross-navigation is deliberately narrower than name matching: 738 launch labels resolve uniquely to 63 reviewed launch-vehicle records. Another 306 labels collide with spacecraft, payload, observatory, or mission names and remain unlinked rather than sending readers to the wrong hardware.
The canonical infrastructure registry also exposes 312 launch-site identities and 27,360 exact primary or ascent-site relationships covering all 26,995 GCAT launches. Site histories stay bounded by year, while all 160 archive-only extensions without site evidence remain explicit holds.
Payload-object navigation uses GCAT JCAT plus the canonical launch identity rather than names. It exposes 31,329 exact launch-to-object links and 31,960 object-to-launch links across the 31,986-object census. Thirty-five conflicting launch pairs and 444 manifest rows without a JCAT remain unlinked holds.
The separate 4,072-record archive-native payload and instrument catalog resolves 3,624 records to a canonical mission launch. Another 448 references belong to non-launch mission dispositions and stay unlinked; 585 mission-scoped manifest labels support exact direct return links with zero ambiguous matches.
Organization navigation derives only from exact canonical mission and contributor relationships—not operator-name matching. It publishes all 271 institutional identities, including 27 explicit source-discovery holds, and connects 80 organizations to 493 launches through 791 exact mission-derived relationships.
