Space programs and missions · A guided course
From different sensors to maps whose evidence you can check
Explore China’s high-resolution Earth-observation program through optical imagery, cloud masks, radar geometry and multi-sensor mapping. Work through observation and validation exercises using real Gaofen figures.
Suggested preparation is listed in the course · Start whenever you’re ready
Published four-panel comparison from Gaofen-1 and Gaofen-4 on April 1, 2020, Gaofen-2 on January 18, and Gaofen-6 on May 10. Figure 7 in Chen and colleagues’ 2022 paper. False-color observations use different sensors, dates and display combinations; the whole montage is not a single Gaofen-1 acquisition.
